The 20-date run sees Worldpeace DMT performing in the largest rooms to date in the United States including Bowery Ballroom in New York City, Echoplex in Los Angeles and Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Worldpeace DMT just performed a string of headline, sold out shows in the USA to celebrate the release of Stick Around For Tea.

Stick Around For Tea

In tandem with the tour announcement, the band shares the music video for Stick Around For Tea track “Ivy,” which was filmed across New York City and directed by Alesh Compton.

Released earlier this month, Stick Around For Tea has been praised by various publications, most notably being graced as Pitchfork’s Best New Music, along with receiving rave reviews from Stereogum and The Guardian. Primarily written by Fincham and Please and produced by Fincham the duo continue to deepen and develop their increasingly singular songwriting approach, paring back to the essentials of their sound to reveal more of themselves than ever before—all the while remaining just tantalizingly out of reach. On the record they achieved a blend of 1960s psychedelic pop and modern-day production touches that have resulted in truly timeless-sounding art. At once whip-smart and sincere, unadorned and teeming with inventiveness, Worldpeace DMT are staying unpredictable to great aplomb across Stick Around for Tea, further justifying their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting groups right now.

Written and recorded across the last year, Stick Around for Tea is at turns raw and deceptively complex, as Fincham and Miles dial down the electronic textures in favor of an airy and intimate sound not unlike indie-pop luminaries the Vaselines. “We want to keep things fresh, interesting and inspiring,” the former says about the aesthetic aims that drove this new record. “The bleeps and bloops—we’ve done that already. The challenge was to find out what to fill that space with, and in a lot of cases, we didn’t fill that space with anything.”

Stick Around For Tea closely follows the Flowers Powers mixtape released earlier this summer, which includes a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” and their lauded debut album The Velvet Underground and Rowan, which includes stand out track “Love Yourself.”
