SHAB – Catch Me If You Can

SHAB

Following her fifth career U.S. Top 40 charting with “Perfume (VIP Remix)” hitting No. 11 on the Billboard Dance Chart, SHAB continues her impressive streak with a hard-hitting, hypnotic new anthem: “Catch Me If You Can.” Fusing driving tribal beats with mesmerizing Persian hooks, this is SHAB at her boldest, most infectious and club-worthy.

SHAB is introducing this cultural, authentic take on modern pop to the mainstream, reaching audiences on a national scale after climbing the charts throughout the year with more than four Billboard Top 40 entries over the last twelve months. Driven by an irresistible “Na-Na-Na” hook and an unapologetically explosive chorus, “Catch Me If You Can” serves as a vibrant new addition to SHAB’s signature style.

This time around, SHAB isn’t waiting for an invitation. Driven by fierce self-assurance and an unwavering spirit of female empowerment, “Catch Me If You Can” pulses with percussive energy and rich Middle Eastern influences. Taking centre stage, SHAB delivers an undeniable anthem that captures the essence of her meteoric rise.

SHAB shared: “Catch Me If You Can is exactly where my head is at right now. I’m done asking permission to be me. I know what I bring, and I’m not chasing anybody to prove it. The song is cheeky with a little danger in it. It’s flirty, but it’s really a dare: you want me? Keep up. Underneath all the fun there’s real fire, because nothing about this ride has been handed to me.

“I’ve fought for every step and I’m still going. Making it with Damon Sharpe, Bonnie McKee and JHart was a blast. I’ve honestly never felt more fearless in the studio. I want people to throw this on, turn it all the way up, and walk into the room like they own it. That’s the whole point.”

The release follows a period of extraordinary momentum for the artist. “Perfume (VIP Remix)” recently became her fifth career Billboard Top 40 charting single, closely following “BEST OF ALL TIME” and her collaboration with Preston Harris on “It’s On You,” which surged to No. 15 on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart as her fourth career Billboard Top 40 single. That track followed two other major Billboard Top 40 breakthroughs ober the past 12 months: “Lipstick,” which broke into the U.S. pop charts in late 2025, and “Skin & Bones (VIP),” which made waves during the opening months of 2026. Such achievements, combined with an undeniable charisma, place her alongside heavyweights like Bruno Mars, RAYE, and PinkPantheress as one of 2026’s most talked-about pop forces.

Beneath the electrifying undercurrent of “Catch Me If You Can” beats a deep, personal resonance: a proud homage to her roots and a tribute to her harrowing, inspiring journey fleeing Tehran as an eight-year-old and the youngest of a fmily with thirteen children. After escaping radical fundamentalism in Iran and almost five years spent separated from her family while in a German boarding school, SHAB arrived alone as a young teenager in New York carrying everything she owned in a single suitcase: a moment that would later shape her sophomore double album, ‘One Suitcase’, but also her entire artistic voice. Speaking only Farsi and German upon reaching America, she learnt flawless English while working multiple jobs through her secondary school and university years. She briefly attended law school but ultimately left to follow music, the one creative discipline that made her feel fully alive and free.

Today, SHAB stands not only as a global pop artist but also as a powerful voice advocating for women’s rights in Iran and speaking openly against what she has called the “gangster regime” in Tehran, turning her platform into both a creative and cultural force. Her sound, emotional, electronic and global, has become unmistakably her own but continues to evolve while rooted in authenticity and connection. And her live performances have electrified audiences, with a reviewer of her late 2025 U.S. tour with The Wanted observing that “her performance style combined Jennifer Lopez’s show-stopping confidence with Shakira’s hypnotic rhythm and fluid grace, every move charged with emotion and intent.”
