Starcrawler – Kick Me

Starcrawler by Autumn de Wilde

Beloved LA rock outfit Starcrawler have unleashed their brand new single “Kick Me” today following the buzz of their standalone single “On 2 U” released earlier this year. “Kick Me” is accompanied by the official announcement of their long-awaited fourth record sharing the same name. Taking matters into their own hands and embracing their DIY roots, the record marks the band’s first ever independent full-length project. Kick Me is due Friday, March 26th, 2027.

Kick Me

“Kick Me” is an anthem for the misfits, a rallying call for anyone living on the fringes of society. Starcrawler are fearless in the face of their critics. To anyone laughing, they’re laughing right back. They know exactly who they are. Punchy and guitar-driven, “Kick Me” sees Starcrawler doing what they do best: paying homage to their rock and roll predecessors and paving the way for the future of the Los Angeles rock scene.

“The idea for the song came one night thinking back to when I was a little kid, hating school and being super obsessed with Elvis Presley and playing the tuba,” lead guitarist Henri Cash shares. “I was always getting into fights at school because I was the one weird freak that couldn’t relate to the rest of the other kids. We are all still weird freaks in our own ways, and that’s probably why we all get along so well.”

The new single is brought to life with a music video directed by front-woman Arrow de Wilde–a spin on the classic jocks vs. nerds trope coated in a certain chaos only Starcrawler know how to make happen. True to themselves, the band vows not to take themselves too seriously, proving that having a good time with your closest friends is the secret to keeping the band inspired.

This is where the entire ethos lies for Starcrawler’s impending album. Punk rock has always been for the strange and off-putting, a declaration against the status quo with an unwavering belief in music that feels greater than yourself. Four records in, and Starcrawler continues to ingrain this essence into everything they do.

Regarding the album, Cash adds, “We played the same festival as Patti Smith a couple years back, and right when she was about leave the catering tent, she came to our table and told us: ‘You know what Jimi Hendrix always told me?  Let your freak flag fly.’  That moment always stuck with us, and I feel like that’s exactly what we’re doing with this album.”

Starcrawler are currently on tour supporting Sex Pistols during their U.S. run. These shows lead up to their Devil’s Night bash at The Regent on October 30th, with Violet Grohl and The Paranoyds kicking it all off. Known for their electrifying performances and fierce punk spirit, Starcrawler know how to make your hair stand on end. Anyone who hasn’t heard Starcrawler before is leaving the show never forgetting what they saw.
