Elise Elvira – You Don’t Know Me

ELISE ELVIRA

Following a series of standout releases that have established her as one of Sweden’s most compelling alternative pop artists, Elise Elvira unleashes bold new single, “You Don’t Know Me” out now via United Masters.

A fervent follow up to September’s “Postcard” plus previous releases “I Need To Sleep”, “I’M DEAD” and “One Life To Give” that collectively gained over 475K streams, Elise Elvira returns with a smooth, understated new offering. Painting a picture of a glamorous world of paparazzi, private jets and beauty as the key to happiness, Elise appears to exist on the outskirts of this world – observing rather than indulging in it. Beneath the polished surface, she exposes the emptiness and absurdity of a culture obsessed with appearances, wealth and success: “girl, you can’t be sad, you’re too pretty and your Dad used to be a wealthy man, with private jets and all of that… just smile for the camera.”

Driven by crisp, sleek production elements, “You Don’t Know Me” bursts into life with fast-paced, jazz-infused drum sequences and a brooding bass groove, to give the track a steady momentum, while layered synths add a glossy, atmospheric texture. Elise’s velvet-smooth vocals sit neatly above the composition, moving between playful phrasing, autotuned vocal flourishes, and smooth melodic lines. French-spoken passages add a distinct tonal contrast, creating a sound that feels both composed yet effortless. With this release, Elise Elvira highlights her unique approach to songwriting, and sets the tone for the full-length project to come.

With a creative background that stretches beyond the feats of most pop artists – from musical theatre and opera singing to guiding young songwriters through their own journeys as a coach for Dua Lipa’s Sunny Hill Foundation – Elise Elvira’s multi-faceted experience feeds into her rich and emotive sound, created with a small, friend-heavy collective in Stockholm – prevalent in her upcoming EP, If Nobody Knows, Does It Count?’. From a coveted support slot for Eurovision winner Nemo last year and a standout performance at Way Out West, to growing support across Swedish radio, and media support from F WORD and MUNDANE MAGAZINE, Elise Elvira’s trajectory continues to gather pace.

With “You Don’t Know Me,” Elise Elvira takes another confident step forward, offering a first taste of what’s to come on her upcoming album and cementing her place as one of Sweden’s most intriguing emerging pop artists.
