Orca – skin&skin
Orca, the San Antonio alternative indie-pop duo share new single, “skin&skin,” an intimate and delicately orchestrated exploration of vulnerability.
Produced by Hether, the track finds Orca continuing to carve out a sound that feels distinctly their own, pairing shimmering indie-pop with an atmospheric, emotionally charged approach to songwriting. The accompanying video features the pair in a vintage-inspired, homemade visual that aptly captures the track’s warmth with slow dancing and intimate performance cutaways.
Speaking about “skin&skin,” Orca says, “This track exposes the vulnerable truth about wanting love. It confesses how draining the constant battle between craving affection and fearing intimacy can warp your perception of true happiness. It has been such a special opportunity to learn from music idol, Paul Castelluzzo (Hether), whose beautiful vision helped bridge our ‘throw-away demo’ into the full project’s signature sound.”
“skin&skin” follows Orca’s recent single, “Dove.” While “Dove” considered the tension of emotional connection, “skin&skin” turns inward, confronting the vulnerability that exists beneath the desire to be loved. Since releasing “Dove” last month, Orca has been touring with Love Spells during the North American leg of his Love Is The Law world tour.
The San Antonio duo are crafting moody, cinematic soundscapes rooted in emotional storytelling. Blending indie-pop shimmer with dreamlike atmosphere, their music explores transformation, identity, longing, and renewal. Their latest EP, Ladybird, released May 2, 2025, introduced the duo through breakout track “Certain Feelings” and established the foundation for their atmospheric, emotionally driven sound.
Over the past year, Orca have opened for 54 Ultra, Hether, Temachii, Jackson Marshall, and The Two Lips, while performing across a series of Texas festivals. With “skin&skin,” the duo continue to explore the messy, intimate spaces between desire and fear, creating music that feels as vulnerable as it is immersive.
