Whisper Doll – Sunsigns

Today, New York City’s Whisper Doll are excited to share “Sunsigns,” off their new album Lucky Clover, available October 2, 2026, via Take Care Records.
Built on the whirlwind of a flourishing crush, “Sunsigns” looks to the sun, the moon and stars for meaning. Glistening guitars lay below vocalist Fiona’s propulsive vocals, soundtracking an official music video that looks to tarot cards for answers. The video was co-directed by Fiona and Sage Leopold (Venetian Blinds), featuring the band transformed into tarot card tableaus inspired by the 2016 cult classic The Love Witch.
Speaking about the new single, Fiona shares, “This song is about the stage of being super enamored with someone to the point that you’re looking up their star signs and trying to gauge your compatibility with them from afar. I wanna know what the universe has to say!”
On last month’s release “So Sweet,” bandleader and musician Fiona Tagami finds inner peace after returning to her childhood home. Her lyrics reflect the ease and harmony of a homecoming, while a delicate, otherworldly instrumental forms beneath. An official music video for the track premiered alongside it, co-directed by Fiona and Owen Lehman (Geese, MX LONELY, Lip Critic), who has brought all of the Lucky Clover era videos to life. Set on an elementary school theater stage, the official music video unites two distant lovers as they discover a shared reality.
Earlier this summer, “Bluebells” arrived alongside the album announcement in all its whimsical and melodic pop glory, reflecting the freshness of a new beginning. Upbeat riffs collide with Fiona’s vocals, which rest like a blanket atop the summery mix. The track carries the listener through a dreamlike journey, glimmering with hope. An official music video for the track alongside the single, inspired by Alice in Wonderland and shot on Bard’s campus; a magical portrayal of Whisper Doll’s glistening sound.
In April, “Am I a Knife” heralded the news of the band’s signing to Take Care Records, featuring cascading, twinkling synths over a driving bassline. Fiona’s intense emotionality shines through in her fully expressive vocals, which reach new heights in the song’s thunderous chorus. “Oh, take me as I am, Oh, you know that you can,” she sings, reflecting on the severed reality of the male gaze from feminine desires.

Known for their captivating live performances, Whisper Doll has built a following within NY’s rock scene and toured across the U.S. and Japan. Throughout this year, the band previewed new material at New Colossus Festival, RockNite NY, and shows with Gift and Horse Jumper of Love. Next month, Whisper Doll will celebrate Lucky Clover with an album release show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY on October 9. Local favorites Buff Ginger and Cyanotype will open the show, with DJ sets from Starcleaner Reunion, Computerwife, and Shower Curtain.
