Kate Bollinger – Shop Girl

Virginia-born and LA-based multidisciplinary artist Kate Bollinger released her debut album Songs From A Thousand Frames Of Mind in 2024. Today she makes her long-awaited return with the announcement of Shop Girl, Bollinger’s forthcoming EP produced by Jonathan Rado (Foxygen, Weyes Blood, The Killers, Miley Cyrus, Father John Misty and more), who also performs on the record alongside musicians Sam France, Tim Bernardes, and Alex Heaney.

The EP, set for release on October 2 via Ghostly International, features five songs – four of which were written with frequent collaborator Matthew E. White. Kate refers to this collection as “songs from an imagined musical”: the story of a small boutique, its owner, and the three young women who run the shop.
Out today is the EP’s title track “Shop Girl,” in which one of the girls describes the mundane tasks of working in a shop with such verve that the ordinary is surreally transformed.
Kate will bring Shop Girl to New York and Los Angeles this Fall, for a show on November 5 at 2220 Arts + Archives in LA and on November 10th at TV Eye in Queens
Tour Dates:
