Genia – Intense Lover

Singer / songwriter Genia turns inward and peels back on the woman off the stage with her latest EP Intense Lover out now via Def Jam Recordings.

Intense Lover exists within a space between classic R&B and its more contemporary, rhythmic counterpart where Genia moves effortlessly from emotionally charged moments to buoyant, upbeat tracks. The EP’s subtly shifting production reflects the contradictions inherent to both identity and love and results in a project that feels deliberately multifaceted and sensual without being one-dimensional, vulnerable without surrendering its confidence. The previously released singles “Can’t Wait” and “Miss Your Touch” establish the emotional duality at the heart of Intense Lover. While “Can’t Wait” finds Genia unapologetically embracing desire and asserting what she wants, “Miss Your Touch” reveals the vulnerability beneath that confidence, confronting the difficulty of denying a love she genuinely needs.
