Snooper – Recess
Last year, Snooper — founded by guitarist Connor Cummins and vocalist Blair Tramel — released their acclaimed album, Worldwide, via Third Man Records.
Today, ahead of their US tour kicking off tonight, the band shares the new single/video, “Recess.”
The electronic track is the sound of obsessively counting down the minutes until recess and was energetically inspired by “Lip Gloss” by Lil Mama, one of Tramel’s favorite songs. The music video was shot in an abandoned high school during the demolition process. Denoted by by the band as their summer anthem, “Recess” is the first taste of new Snooper music since the release of Worldwide.
Following the band’s summer dates, including a show with Die Spitz as part of the Rolling Stone Rock tour in San Diego, the band will embark on a tour later this year supporting Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.
Over the past few years, Snooper have rocketed from DIY scene stalwarts to widespread adoration in the international underground music scene. Worldwide extends directly from the festering punk the band first made their name on, but documents Snooper becoming bolder, catchier, and more confident. The album was celebrated by fans and critics alike, landing on several “Best of 2025” lists from publications including The Needle Drop, VICE, Treble, and beyond.
