Blumi – Jaguar

BLUMI

French-British singer-songwriter Blumi releases “Jaguar”, via Capitane Records.

The single marks Blumi’s first release on the Paris-based label and offers a first glimpse into her highly anticipated debut album (early 2027).

“Jaguar” explores one of the oldest and most written-about subjects in songwriting: the tension between the individual and society, between the desire for solitude and the desire to belong. Whilst the song celebrates the blissfulness that time spent alone can bring, its central insight is the realisation that joy fundamentally comes from our interaction with others.

“They are the purveyors of lightness, laughs, relief,” Blumi explains. “We should stop running away from the joyous chaos of life, as we would from a jaguar. This is not a jaguar.”

The track captures a moment of personal reckoning—moving beyond the drama of isolation toward the quieter truth that human connection is where meaning resides.

Written by Emma Broughton and composed with Romain Vasset, “Jaguar” was recorded at La Frette Studios and produced collaboratively by Emma Broughton, Lucien Chatin, Maxime Daoud, and Romain Vasset. The track was mixed by Ali Chant at Playpen and mastered by Emilie Daelemans.

The collective production approach reflects Blumi’s collaborative ethos—creating music as a shared artistic endeavour whilst maintaining her singular sonic identity.

Blumi is the musical project of Emma Broughton, a French-British artist working across singing, songwriting, composition, and multi-instrumental performance. Launched in 2018 following her departure from academic research, Blumi has developed a distinctive aesthetic grounded in folk, jazz, and classical influences, refined through meticulous lyrical craftsmanship and nuanced vocal performance.
