A summer anthem for those who keep dancing despite heartbreak, the single explores emotional distance following separation—whether romantic or platonic—through a sonic dialogue that balances vulnerability with euphoric energy.
“Distance et Promesse” is at once melancholic, sensual, and radiant. The two artists build an intimate dialogue carried by addictive melodies, organic electronic production, and constant tension between softness and eruption.
“This song was written in the spring of 2025,” Sarah Maison explains. “The track explores the emotional distance that settles in after a separation, whether romantic or platonic. Balancing vulnerability and euphoric energy, it’s about keeping that dance alive despite the cracks.”
The result is a breakup song that refuses sadness alone—instead capturing the complexity of moving forward whilst acknowledging loss, celebrating resilience through rhythm and melody.
Directed by Alice Michaud, the music video transposes romantic tension into a lush and uncanny forest setting. Inspired by fantasy cinema and folk horror, the director transforms heartbreak into a sensory tale suspended between fragile beauty and eerie strangeness—a visual complement to the song’s emotional complexity.
“Distance et Promesse” marks the beginning of a series of live collaborations between Louise BSX and Sarah Maison, with their first duo performance scheduled for 25th June 2026 at La Flèche d’Or, Paris.
