ilykimchi – Every Day A Movie

Fresh off her performance alongside TECH G1RLS in Miami, Los Angeles pop artist and producer ilykimchi has just shared a brand new single, “Every Day A Movie” — out now along with an accompanying music video.
Produced with Groupthink and brightviolet, “Every Day A Movie” encapsulates the energy and optimism of 2010s electro-pop and house music, while the video, shot and directed by Hop Nguyen and Ojulowo Mei, contrasts that feeling with a dark, hallucinatory visual. This single serves as the third track in the rollout for her sophomore album I LOVE YOU KIMCHI (out June 23rd) following “Poser” and “Crashout” (feat. binx). A celebratory project full of danceable club bangers, I LOVE YOU KIMCHI follows a whirlwind year that includes Kimchi’s run opening for Six Sex and Sophia Stel on their respective headline tours, Frost Children’s debut of their unreleased collab single at EDC, nonstop underground DJ sets, a collaboration with Skrillex on his 2025 Grammy-nominated album Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!!, and her buzzy debut performance at Rolling Loud Orlando last month.

ilykimchi’s 2023 debut album, agony was borne from a period of sonic exploration, emerging organically as a natural progression of her consistent production, songwriting, and recording. In the years since its release, she found herself going out more and engaging in the New York and Los Angeles nightlife scenes, which helped inform I LOVE YOU KIMCHI. The project, which she describes as hopeful electronic music, incorporates confessional-style interludes and thought-out narratives, emphasizing danceability while drawing inspiration from early-2010s pop and tapping into the spirit of artists like LMFAO and Bodyrox. She assembled a Mount Rushmore of experimental producers for the album — including brightviolet, Groupthink, Geoff Hufford, Ali RQ, and, of course, herself — with the sound reflecting her admiration for Skrillex’s festival-oriented electronic music and a core base of 2000s-era recession pop.
