LEXA – Baggage Claim

LEXA, Rainbow Honours’ Musician of the Year and one of the breakout faces of Sex Education, who releases her new single ‘Baggage Claim’
This will be the lead single on LEXA’s, ‘A Guide to Heartbreak’, the final instalment of her EP trilogy set to release this autumn to her accrued following of 190k+.
‘Baggage Claim’ makes history with entirely trans+ writing credits. Cowritten with SATCH, established songwriter who launched the ‘Transpose’ songwriting camp in collaboration with The Ivor’s Academy, and co-produced with Charlieeeee (Fred Again, The 1975, Gary Barlow). Sonically reminiscent of Scouting for Girls, Rachel Chinouriri and Devon Again, LEXA wants to reclaim the indie-rock. Britpop classics she grew up on and create a new sub-genre in which dreamy, girly-pop melodies and funky guitar riffs can collide.
In conjunction with her single release, LEXA will launch a non-profit merch campaign with Teemill, fundraising for Climate Live. This follows her previous campaign in collaboration with Changing Faces, of whom she still advocates for along with Just Like Us, GoFundMe and Allsorts Youth.
“Being able to create a track about my first breakup with a trans person, that shattered me, with an all trans songwriting team is beyond healing. It’s a reclamation of the 00s indie rock I grew up on; think Scouting for Girliepop, Arctic Montheys, Transvil Levine, where a rise in AI generated music, has called for a new demand for cathartic messiness and human authenticity in music again.”
