REIGNS – Everybody Falls Apart Sometimes

Fresh from the release of her emotionally powerful single ‘Closer Than Your Shadow’, breakout star Reigns returns with a deeply moving ballad of grief, loss, and compassion. Her new single, ‘Everybody Falls Apart Sometimes’, arrives in poignant alignment with Mental Health Awareness Week on May 1st via her own label, She Wears The Crown Records.
Showcasing the profound depth of her songwriting, the track stands as one of the most emotionally raw and affecting pieces of her career – a tender piano-led offering shaped by grief yet illuminated by empathy. Co-written with long-time collaborator and producer Dee Adam, alongside Rory O’Hara, the song explores the quiet complexities of bereavement. It serves as an intimate ode to anyone who has experienced loss in any form, inspired by the passing of someone deeply impacted by mental health struggles.
Opening with a cinematic, orchestral swell, the track gently unfolds as Reigns’ signature soulful vocals enter – delicate yet commanding. A minimal, atmospheric soundscape allows the lyrics to breathe, mirroring grief itself: subtle, haunting, and quietly powerful. It honours a life that left a lasting imprint on those who knew them, even as the weight of the world rested heavily on their shoulders.
Sonically intimate and emotionally expansive, the track is enriched with layered harmonies and anchored by the repeated refrain, ‘Everybody falls apart sometimes’. It is both a reflection on the ongoing struggles surrounding mental health and a reminder of the enduring presence of hope and support. Already chosen as a fan-favourite single by her deeply connected community, the release feels less like a moment and more like a shared act of remembrance and unity.
From the opening line, ‘I feel you walking circles in my head,’ the song captures the relentless nature of grief – looping endlessly, familiar places rendered unfamiliar, and even the act of speaking a name becoming overwhelming. The lyric, ‘bad choices made, good stories in the end,’ reflects a life lived unapologetically – imperfect, complex, and profoundly meaningful. At its core, the chorus delivers a universal truth: ‘A love like you is always hard to find… everybody falls apart sometimes.’
Described by Reigns as one of the most difficult songs she has ever performed, the emotion remains close to the surface throughout. Her vocal delivery is intentionally stripped back and unguarded, allowing vulnerability to guide every moment. It stands as a testament to her emotional honesty and to music’s unique ability to offer comfort when words alone fall short.
Reigns shared: ‘I (Reigns) went into the Karma Kabin Studio in Herne Bay after just finding out that my cousin had tragically taken his own life due to struggles with mental health. I was really struggling to get hold of my emotions but talking about it in the session with Dee Adam and us writing this song together, gave me some comfort that was difficult to find at that time. It’s taken me a few months to release it because it was difficult for me to listen to emotionally but now I feel like it’s in honour of him and performing it and listening to it now makes me proud to bring some awareness to mental health.
The ballad follows ‘Closer Than Your Shadow’, her collaboration with Waives, released on February 27th. The track showcased a visionary blend of liquid electronic drum & bass, creating an immersive sonic world beneath Reigns’ soul-drenched vocals. The result was a cinematic, emotionally charged anthem that resonated widely, achieving 3.9 million views and 42,000 likes on TikTok. Expansive yet deeply personal, it bridged underground electronic credibility with crossover pop appeal.
Her earlier collaboration with Waives, ‘Collateral Damage’, first sparked their creative chemistry – amassing over 25 million views on TikTok and securing a seven-week run on Capital Dance, with support from MistaJam, Sarah Divine, and Charlie Powell. Since then, Reigns has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase, both online and on stage, where demand for her original material continues to grow.
Live performance remains central to her ascent. Recently, Reigns sold out three London shows, including Paper Dress Vintage and The Camden Club, further cementing her rising pull. She also delivered an exclusive performance on Camden High Street alongside viral TikTok DJ DJ AG, performing ‘Collateral Damage’ and a stunning rendition of The Fugees’ ‘Killing Me Softly’. Next, she marks a major live milestone as she joins soul-jazz powerhouse Rebecca Ferguson on her UK tour this June, with dates in Lytham (2nd June), Leeds (3rd June), and Gateshead (4th June).
A true vocal force, Reigns blends blues grit with a fearless pop edge. Inspired by legends such as Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, and Nina Simone, she channels timeless soul through a contemporary lens. Her lyrics – rooted in heartbreak, honesty, and hope – are fearless in their vulnerability.
Following the success of her critically acclaimed EP ‘Approval Not Needed’, supported by BBC Introducing, Reigns has continued to build momentum. Last summer saw her command festival stages at Pride, Futuretense x BBC Introducing at the Southbank, and The Camden Weekender. She also won ‘The Emerging Headliner’ competition, performing on the main stage at Pub in the Park and closing the Emerging Headliner stage at the same event.
With strong backing from BBC Radio, Capital Dance, KISS FM, and SiriusXM, Reigns is rapidly establishing herself as a global electronic-pop voice. Her collaborations span industry heavyweights including Low Steppa, Carl Cox, DJ Zinc, Ferreck Dawn, Benny Benassi, Leandro Da Silva, Adelphi Music Factory, Mesa & Boss, and Sam Divine.
Following the success of ‘Collateral Damage’, she launched her own label, She Wears The Crown, in partnership with Dee Adam (Mae Stephens, Kaiser Chiefs, Maribou State, KSHMR), marking a decisive step toward creative independence and long-term vision. Together, they are shaping a sound that honours classic soul while forging a distinctly modern path.
Looking ahead, Reigns is setting her sights on her most significant milestone yet: her debut album, Love Languages, arriving in 2026. With major tour dates, a rapidly expanding fanbase, and the poignant release of ‘Everybody Falls Apart Sometimes’, she continues to define herself as one of the most compelling new voices in contemporary music – unafraid to feel, and unafraid to be heard.
