Rapidly rising alt-pop artist Chloe Star unveils her new single‘you say’ via Chloe Star Records.
The single follows the recently shared music video for her single, ‘call you back’. Born in Los Angeles, and based between Los Angeles and London, Chloe Star is a multi-talented Persian and Indigenous singer-songwriter, visual artist and tribal advocate, whose bold and self-assured soundscape has been championed by global tastemakers like Rolling Stone which included her track ‘Bad Habit’ in their 2025 Best New Music: Songs You Need to Know feature, CLASH Magazine, 1883 Magazine, EUPHORIA, as well as EARMILK. Chloe Star has performed at major festivals in the UK and the US including on the main stage at London Pride, New York Pride Festival, Back Lot Bash in Chicago, as well as events such as Out & Abt in New York and The Dinah in California.
Chloe Star grew up between her family’s reservation in San Bernardino and Los Angeles. Her musical journey started as a pre-teen when she started using journalling and other artforms as a way to express her creativity and emotions, while she was also influenced by her Persian and Indigenous roots which were very musical. The 28-year-old artist burst onto the scene just three years ago in 2023, and has since built a career on unrivaled authenticity and raw emotion, which has resulted in her ever-growing influence and fanbase. Chloe Star is heavily influenced by an array of artists including Amy Winehouse, Nirvana, Janis Joplin and YUNGBLUD, while she’s drawn comparison to artists like Paramore, Billie Eillish and YUNGBLUD. ‘you say’ reflects her dynamism, potent lyricism and infectious energy which is sure to ensnare fans of P!nk, Avril Lavigne and Paramore.
The single, which is a powerful love anthem, was produced by JP Clark, written by Chloe Star and JP Clark, with mastering credits going to Eric Emery (Blink182, Yellowcard, Travis Barker). The track is underscored by a staggering instrumental arrangement featuring a driving electric guitar motif, a restless, evocative melody and chest-rattling drumwork. Chloe Star’s vocals and honest lyricism shine brightly throughout, showcasing her phenomenal vocal range. Thematically, the track highlights a toxic romantic dynamic where an individual’s actions do not align with their words, causing turmoil, grief and confusion for their partner. ‘you say’ zooms in on a more subdued and vulnerable side of Chloe Star’s creativity, further expanding her relatability with her fans.
