Maya Hawke – Bring Home My Man

Maya Hawke by David Sims

Maya Hawke has unveiled “Bring Home My Man,” the latest track taken from the anticipated fourth album, Maitreya Corso, out May 1st via Mom + Pop Music.

Additionally, Maya has revealed her new website – Maya Hawke Music – which is an expansive world of Maitreya Corso. By pre-ordering the album on the site, fans will receive exclusive previews from the new album throughout the month of April.

Maitreya Corso

Maya Hawke’s “Bring Home My Man” is steadfastly romantic. In fact, she sees the song as a sort of vow: “It’s everything I think I could reasonably promise another person.” It’s a song about commitment and togetherness while embracing the inevitability of change, and prioritizing tactful honesty above all else.

“Bring Home My Man” is another glimpse into the world of Maitreya Corso. Juxtaposed by the seemingly journalistic nature of her lyricism, Maya has created a persona for “Maitreya Corso,” the lead character in a fantasy world of Maya’s own making; a “magical misfit, whose sheer inability to adapt to the surrounding world allows her to create a world of her own.”

For her fourth album, Maya has crafted her most evocative and effusive work; a collection of songs written and recorded with her songwriting partners and producers, lauded singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson and multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Lazar Davis, as well as engineering and production from her long time collaborator Jonathan Low.

Today’s release coincides with the first night of Maya’s first U.S. tour in three years. The entirely sold out tour kicks off at Levon Helm Studios in bucolic Woodstock, NY – where she wrote much of the album – and includes stops at iconic venues including Bowery Ballroom in New York and The Troubadour in LA.
