Nemarca – Little Yellow Pill

Nemarca delivers a dose of “Little Yellow Pill,” the second single from the upcoming EP Falling All the Time, following March’s lead single “Betsy’s Room.”
Written during an earlier chapter of Reidister’s life, “Little Yellow Pill” stands as one of the most personal entries in the Nemarca catalog, anchoring the project’s recurring themes of time, mental health and self-reflection while widening the emotional scope introduced in the first single.
“I wrote ‘Little Yellow Pill’ when I was 18, during a chapter in my life marked by debilitating mental illness,” said Reidister. “My anxiety was so severe that I couldn’t consume any media without having a panic attack — except for Vampire Weekend. Apparently lyrics about grammar and geography were the one thing I could stomach at the time.
“’Little Yellow Pill’ is a highly intimate song; it’s a highly intimate EP. It’s almost like a memoir. Each track feels like walking through a portal and being transported inside a memory.”
Nemarca is the solo project of Boston-based artist, writer and musician Anna Reidister, created as a space to explore songwriting, sound and storytelling without fixed boundaries.
Before launching Nemarca, Reidister was a founding member of The Croaks, a Boston-based band known within the local indie and DIY scene for its character-driven writing and collaborative approach to performance. The project helped shape Reidister’s grounding in live performance and narrative-focused songwriting, elements that continue to inform her solo work.
Outside of music, Reidister’s creative practice spans storytelling, performance, post-digital objects, folk art and poetry. She holds a BFA in Interrelated Media from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a minor in Creative Writing.
Under the name Nemarca, Reidister has released music through Bandcamp and performed throughout the Boston area, including recorded live sessions at WMFO, building a project that values curiosity, emotional specificity and experimentation.
