Charlotte Cardin – The Way We Touch

Just weeks after winning the Female artist of the year at the Victoires de la Musique, Charlotte Cardin continues her international momentum and today unveils “The Way We Touch,” a new single that is as sensual as it is appealing, accompanied by a music video.
Ever since the first teasers were released over the last few days, anticipation has been building: and now the seemingly endless wait is over with the release of this new magnetic music video.
Following up “Tant pis pour elle,” this new luminous pop song unfolds like a wave that finally breaks free. Co-written and produced in Montréal with her longtime collaborators Jason Brando and Sam Avant, the song blends pop, alternative pop and soul pop in a vibrant track that is playful, powerful and irresistibly appealing, driven by dark, sensual tension that lends it an almost hypnotic rhythm. Supported by smouldering saxophone, the track gains depth and sensuality, reinforcing its hypnotic groove.
“This track takes me back to when my sister and I used to film our own music videos with the family VHS camera, while wearing my mother’s jewelry. It’s both playful and freeing, connecting me to the place where my love for music began,” explains the artist.
The official “The Way We Touch” music video, directed by Glenn Michael, accompanies the song’s release and amplifies its sensual, enchanting atmosphere. Through a refined esthetic and stylized images, Charlotte Cardin inhabits a world that is both powerful and vulnerable, where the song’s emotional intensity and sensuality are fully expressed. Anchored in the timelessness of black and white, “The Way We Touch” revisits the visual and emotional codes which marked the artist’s early works, while embracing the clarity, scope and ambition of a contemporary pop artist fully prepared to assert her vision.
