Megan Moroney – Cloud 9

Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney has announced the upcoming release of her globally anticipated new album, Cloud 9.

Due out on February 20, the Country superstar’s third studio LP is poised to be one of the defining and most exciting releases of 2026. Today she releases an official lyric video of the title track “Cloud 9.”
Written by Moroney, Luke Laird, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Ernest Keith Smith, “Cloud 9” perfectly captures the unparalleled bliss of being so lit up by love that life’s little frictions completely lose their power. As the opening track to Cloud 9, the slow-blooming but sweetly upbeat track offers an irresistible introduction to Moroney’s most self-assured era yet.
Produced by her longtime collaborator Kristian Bush, “Cloud 9” begins with Moroney listing off all the little annoyances of her day (e.g. rush-hour traffic, obnoxious neighbors) and then shrugging them off with a breezy tranquility (“But who cares, oh well / I woke up next to you”). As the song glides along, lush steel guitar and softly glittering synth meet with heavenly melodies and Moroney’s wide-eyed outpouring of affection (from the chorus: “You give me that look, I’m floating on air / No nothing else matters with your hands in my hair / I never want to leave where we are now / It’s a long, long way way down / Down to cloud nine”). With its subtle flashes of good-natured humor (e.g., “I blame you for no rocks in my shoes”), “Cloud 9” channels the quiet awe of someone who’s overcome her share of heartbreak — but ultimately looks to the future with unstoppable joy.
“I am so excited for my fans and I to dive into this new world of Cloud 9 together,” shares Moroney. “Similar to the first two albums, it’s all written about honest, personal experiences, but these songs were written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I’ve ever been. My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry and it was fun to play around sonically, while still sticking to my roots of what my fans and I love. Cloud 9 is a state of mind, and I have no doubt this will be the best chapter yet.”
Along with “Wish I Didn’t,” Cloud 9 will include Moroney’s back-to-back Country radio hits “6 Months Later” (a GOLD-certified smash that recently cracked the Top 5 on Country radio) and ”Beautiful Things,” as well as features with global superstar Ed Sheeran and Country luminary Kacey Musgraves.
In addition to its digital version, the album will be available in a number of vinyl variants, including the main vinyl edition in Megan’s Signature Pink – Standard and the Tiger Cloud – BTS Edition.
This May, Moroney will take off on THE CLOUD 9 TOUR — a 49-date international headline run whose U.S. leg immediately sold over 450,000 tickets. One of the year’s most sought-after live events, THE CLOUD 9 TOUR will feature stops at major arenas throughout North America, Europe, and the UK.
