Jesca Hoop – Long Wave Home

Jessica Hoop2

Jesca Hoop has been a singular presence in independent music for nearly 20 years, releasing 6 solo albums between 2007 and 2022. Across her career Hoop has worked with a catalog of notable producers, including PJ Harvey and Tracy Chapman producer John Parish, Boygenius and Taylor Swift producer Tony Berg and Fiona Apple producer Blake Mills, but today, Hoop is announcing a new LP that represents a first in her storied catalog.

Hoop’s latest LP is called Long Wave Home (due out May 1st), and it is the first album for which she is the sole producer.

Recorded in studios across the UK while travelling the country in a camper van, the album features contributions from Sam Amidon, Sons of Kemet drummer Seb Rochford and bassist Jon Thorne. It is being announced with its lead single “Designer Citizen.”

“When I was faced with the challenge of writing and recording a new album I had the choice to stay where I was comfortable, under the sage guidance of a producer or step out into the dark and produce it myself,” Hoop says. “It became clear, that if I was going to grow in the craft, I needed to become my own lighthouse. So I made the commitment to take on the producer role.”

Drawing on the knowledge gained from her time and experience working with various production luminaries, Hoop’s latest sparkles and blooms with a passion for her burgeoning craft and vision. Taking the reigns as a producer is also particularly fitting for an album that was written during a period of change for Hoop that saw the end to some important relationships in her life.

“My life took an unexpected turn in 2025,” she explains. “Many people exited my life… like a bus pulling into the station. Some of these relationships were of great importance, so I had much to wrestle with. Disconnect, or the illusion thereof, was also fodder for songs—amid the chaos and confusion we are creating in this world. Writing became a refuge for me—a place to explore interpersonal connections and the rise and fall of emotions that come with relationships.”

In support of the release Hoop will be touring in the UK in May with US dates to follow.
