Poor Bambi – This One Is For Free

Poor Bambi2

“This One Is for Free” is the second single from Poor Bambi’s upcoming debut album Skyscrapers Soaring, Yet We’re Drowning, dropping on February 6th.

Written as a homage to the British punk scene, the song is inspired by real-life events from the singer’s study years in London. Built around British slang, sneering vocals and nasty guitars, it’s the most playful and sarcastic track on the album.

Fast, loud, and cheeky, the track reads as a raw, intrusive internal monologue, channeling punk energy and dark humour into taking the self-important down a peg. Lyrically, it targets a familiar type: someone who burns through money they don’t have, drinks far too much, and struts around like a self-made upper-class “toff” while everything beneath the surface slowly unravels. For fans of A Place to Bury Strangers, Honningbarna and Lambrini Girls.

Emerging from Norway’s oil capital Stavanger, Poor Bambi cuts straight to the bone and delivers an explosive mix of noise rock and punk. Fueled by energy, spontaneity, and emotional depth, Poor Bambi delivers live shows that are a collision of controlled frustration and total devotion to the music, and continues to establish itself as a must-see band on the alternative music scene.

In January 2024, the band’s single “Unbreakable”, received glowing reviews and playlisted by the American radio station KEXP. Totto Mjelde from NRK P13 praised the song on Stjernepose, calling it “one of the best songs of the year. Recently, the band teamed up with legendary producer Nick Sansano, sparking rumors of an upcoming debut album.
