IDYL – Illusion

Rising Belgian artist IDYL announces the release of ‘Illusion’, the debut single from her forthcoming EP Naïve, out November 4, 2025 via cult Belgian label Capitane Records.
The track marks the emergence of one of the most promising new voices on the French-language music scene, offering a heartfelt exploration of disillusionment, hope, and the passage from childhood to adulthood.
Produced by Simon Le Saint (Stromae, Aya Nakamura), ‘Illusion’ combines poetic intensity with refined production, carried by IDYL’s crystal-clear yet powerful vocals. The song gives voice to the doubts of a generation facing a damaged world – one marked by eco-anxiety, loneliness, and uncertainty about the future.
“I want to travel through time, to exist like before… but everything’s an illusion, my child,” IDYL sings, capturing the moment of crossing from childhood into adulthood: leaving behind comforting illusions to confront a harsher reality. Between a lucid look at a world of appearances and a burning desire to keep hoping, ‘Illusion’ reveals the emotional depth of an artist suspended somewhere between the pop freshness of Angèle and the sensitive legacy of France Gall.
“This song invites us to face our disillusions – yet also to believe in light, empathy, and solidarity as ways to navigate the uncertainties of our time,” explains IDYL.
As both songwriter and performer, IDYL asserts with ‘Illusion’ a personal language at once intimate and generational. The track offers a moving first glimpse into the world of Naïve, her upcoming EP expected in early 2026.
