Kyshona – More In Common

Kyshona by Anna Haas

Nashville-based artist/music therapist/activist Kyshona has released “More In Common (Live From The Blueroom Studios)” via Lamiere Records/Moraine Music Group in honor of Juneteenth.

The song originally appeared on her acclaimed 2020 LP, Listen. “I’m releasing ‘More in Common’ on Juneteenth as a reminder that none of us are truly free until all of us are free,” she explains. “When we peel back the layers that divide us and look closer at our shared values and stories, we begin to reconnect. The conversations that have come out of this tour have been powerful. People aren’t talking about differences—they’re talking about what unites us.”

This version, recorded live at The Blueroom Studios in Nashville, was co-produced and engineered by GRAMMY-winning engineer Charles Yingling (Willie Nelson, Megan Moroney). “You don’t get many sessions like this,” he says. “Kyshona brought something different – she made the studio feel like a sanctuary.”

Kyshona crafts songs that are as much about personal discovery as they are about collective healing; she blends roots, R&B, folk, and soul with powerful, purposeful storytelling. Her critically acclaimed 2020 album Listen became an anthem for connection in a divided time, prompting audiences to ask, “What can I do?” Her answer: “Listen.” Whether performing solo or leading community conversations, Kyshona invites listeners to reflect, engage, and take action.

In April 2024, Kyshona released her latest LP, Legacy, via Soundly Music.

Legacy

Co-produced with GRAMMY-nominated producer/engineer/mixer Rachael Moore, Legacy houses 13 songs and features guest contributions from Keb Mo’, Ruthie Foster, Odessa Settles, and more, along with songs co-written with Aaron Lee Tasjan, Brittney Spencer, Caroline Spence, and others, including her late grandfather, Hawthorne “H.T.” Armstrong.
