Luvcat – Lipstick

Hot on the heels of her debut sold-out performances in New York City and Los Angeles, rising UK artist Luvcat returns with new single “Lipstick.”
Written after a chance meeting with a man who called her “doll”—and later ended up playing drums on the track—Luvcat spins a tale of play, power, and passion as she explains: “Lipstick is a song about love and kink. The desire to please and feel like a little doll to be played with but shown tenderness and devotion in equal measure,” Luvcat says. “It came from meeting a man who called me ‘doll’..
Directed by Luvcat herself and Ollie Bradley-Baker, the video is a window into the macabre mind of Luvcat, depicting the theatrical songstress as a wind-up doll in a surrealist ode to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, as she explains: “The music video was inspired by my favourite scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ‘Doll on a Music Box.’ I used to dress up as her as a kid… a wind up doll come to life to terrorize the town. Some things never change I guess.”
The release marks another bold chapter in the Luvcat mythology — a world steeped in escapism, lust, and vaudevillian drama. Since her explosive debut with “Matador,” fans and critics alike have been lured into her shadowy cabaret of doomed romances and twisted fairytales. Whether she’s spinning tales of sailors or selling out jazz clubs and headline shows in minutes, Luvcat remains a shapeshifter — part rock’n’roll siren, part Moulin Rouge dream. Raised on a curious cocktail of The Cure and The Rat Pack, with a dash of Nick Cave and a love of eyeliner-soaked drama, Luvcat’s music fuses theatrical decadence with raw emotional electricity. From Liverpool’s backstreets to impromptu Parisian adventures, each track is a chapter in her ever-growing legend.
The latest single follows fan-favourite singles “He’s My Man” and “Love & Money,” which propelled Luvcat onto the indie-alternative scene and commanded the attention of a fast-growing and reverent fanbase with over 25 million streams across just four singles.
