Rising singer-songwriter Aly Navarrow release “DNR.”

“DNR” opens with stark vulnerability and self-awareness on top of a wading, stripped-back instrumental. Immediately pulling the audience into her headspace, we are introduced to a romantic partnership plagued with “maybes” and unreliability, and Navarro’s lyricism makes clear that she is ready to pick herself up and move on with her life. “DNR” is the story of the relationship that came after the end of her long-term relationship. “I learned that he was not who I originally thought he was, and when I decided that I did not deserve to feel the way he made me feel, that was when I wrote DNR with my co-writers [Makena Tate, Michael Leto],” says Navarro. “I decided I could no longer stand the disrespect and confusion that this ‘situationship’ was causing me.” Resembling the authenticity and artistry of Lizzy McAlpine and Sara Bareilles, “DNR” showcases Navarro’s rich tone and raw emotions as she undergoes this inevitable transition out of a toxic connection. “I’ve gotta pull the plug, Whatever this was, it wasn’t love, Breathing us back to life / Is wasting my air on what’s not right,” Navarro sings as she accepts the fact that this love isn’t as strong as she thought it was, and that despite how painful it is to walk away, sometimes it is what’s necessary. The track was produced, mixed, and recorded by Michael Leto, mastered by Theo Quayle, and features Ethan Rounds on acoustic guitar and banjo, slide guitar by James Fall, and drums and bass by Michael Leto.

Aly Navarro is a singer-songwriter from Miami, FL with years of experience both writing and performing. She loves sharing her original music and creating moving and emotional covers. She writes and performs in genres such as folk, pop, indie rock, and many others in between. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in May 2024 with a degree in songwriting, and now lives in Los Angeles to pursue her dreams in music!
