Tiger La Flor – Motel 6

Seattle-born pop romantic Tiger La Flor shares “Motel 6,” an equally breezy and bittersweet new single out now via Arista Records.
As much a self-mantra as a love letter never sent, the nostalgic cut finds the rising artist grappling with a fizzled relationship. “Motel 6” comes with a visualizer that captures La Flor’s retro flair and undeniable charisma.
Over airy production that evokes a few decades of gossamer West Coast pop, La Flor begins her tale of lost love and self-discovery: “Slept at a Motel 6 in San Rafael a dozen hours south of wishing you well / I crossed the Golden Gate and tried not to think about if I stayed, could we have worked it out?” While regrets do linger, she looks to the future. “Ooh, I’ve been changing,” she coos over a strummed guitar and warm bass. “Wish it was you, not the road I’m chasing.”
The dreamy nostalgia of “Motel 6” is reflected in a stunning visualizer, which finds La Flor serving throwback looks in a suitably vintage motel. Clad in pastel lingerie, she poses with objects from a bygone era, underscoring the timelessness of her music and message of longing.
Emerging from Seattle’s grunge scene, Tiger La Flor ventured south to Los Angeles and forged a unique sound by blending easygoing country and retro synth-pop with indie grit. Her recent EP, Drugstore Cowgirl, earned critical acclaim.
