Molly Tuttle – The Highway Knows

Grammy Award winner Molly Tuttle shares “The Highway Knows,” the new single from her recently announced new solo album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, on August 15, 2025 via Nonesuch Records.
Tuttle will also be performing the song on CBS Saturday Morning this weekend, which airs on Saturday July 12th at 7 am ET on CBS and 8am ET on the CBS News app.

Molly spoke on the new track, saying, “I’m excited for everyone to hear The Highway Knows because it’s one of my favorite songs on the new record. I had written the finger-picked guitar part that you hear in the chorus a few years ago, and finally last year Ketch Secor and I dug up the voice memo of that guitar scrap and wrote words to it. This song is all about finding the person you want to journey through life with. The track came to life once Jay Joyce produced the sprawling guitar solo section that I improvised over midway through, which brought it to a higher peak dynamically. I think this song is reflective of a lot of the album stylistically– We wove together different genres and sounds, and ended up with something that I’m really proud of.”
Recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce (Orville Peck, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson), the fifth full album from the singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist marks a sonic departure from her recent work. Tuttle says, “I’ve been wanting to make this record for such a long time. Part of me was scared to do such a big departure, and that went into the album title.” Eventually, she decided, “‘You know what? I’m just not going to care what people think. I’m going to do what I want.’”
Last month Tuttle announced So Long Little Miss Sunshine with a video for its lead single “That’s Gonna Leave A Mark.”
Tuttle and her new live band will be on the road for the majority of the remainder of the year, with dates announced through mid-December.
