Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Tove Lo is back today with the official music video for ‘2 Die 4’, the latest single off her highly anticipated fifth studio album DIRT FEMME, out October 14th via Pretty Swede Records/mtheory.
Speaking about the new video, Tove reveals, “We wanted to make a pop bitch y2k experience. With all the choreo, the outfits, the wetness. I think we more than delivered.”
Ahead of her upcoming Lollapalooza performance in Chicago and the October 14th release of her highly anticipated fifth studio album DIRT FEMME (Pretty Swede Records/mtheory), the multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist, Tove Lo has released ‘2 Die 4.’
Tove shares. Lyrically I wanted it to be that ‘pick me up when I’m feeling down’ song. At first, it’s like a warm hug, then you shake it off, let out a scream and start dancing!”
On the accompanying scene, directed by Kenny Laubbacher, Tove Lo shares: “I wanted to make something nostalgic, sexy and iconic. The character for this scene is wonder woman with big dick energy and I just love it. Now, if you know what’s good for you, go listen on repeat.”
2007, the new EP from much-lauded vocalist, songwriter and producer Miya Folick, is slated for release September 9 via Nettwerk. Today, Folick shares a new song, “Nothing To See,” produced by Andrew Sarlo,
“This song is about falling in love with someone emotionally unavailable,” Folick says. “Someone whose feelings and desires were so obscured to me and themselves, that I had to become a detective. I studied their life for clues and tried to fit the role of the person I thought they’d like. Eventually we broke up, and I realized that I’d lost the plot on my own life. My body and personality and life were so populated by the interests of this person, that once they were gone, there was nothing left to see. But, to me, this song isn’t bleak. I think there’s power in being brave enough to say, ‘I was made a fool by you.’”
Additionally, Folick confirms a run of U.S. shows this fall, with stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco and an extensive tour across the UK/EU with Tove Lo in October and November.
Today, multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Tove Lo released yet another irresistible earworm titled ‘True Romance,’ along with the news of a forthcoming fifth studio album DIRT FEMME to be released on October 14 (Pretty Swede Records / mtheory).
The album tracklist, which was also unveiled today, boasts an impressive lineup of special guests, including SG Lewis (appearing on two tracks), Channel Tres and First Aid Kit.
Speaking on her highly anticipated forthcoming full-length, the Swedish superstar shared: “Dirt Femme is about me and my relationship with my femininity. When I started out as a writer and an artist, I used to view my feminine traits as weaker and would enhance my masculine traits to get ahead in life. I feel a big energy shift in my environment since then and this album reflects the various ways my feminine side has both helped and hurt me.” She continues “I’m a pansexual woman married to a straight man. I believe masculine and feminine lives on a spectrum in all humans. There are so many more interesting nuances than most people want to accept. Songs on this album will contradict each other, will probably upset some of you, will make you want to dance, cry, fuck and drive your car really, really, fast. It’s extremely personal as always which is why it’s so hard to describe in just a few words. It’s all my feelings, thoughts and questions put together in under 50 minutes with no answers. But I know that I always feel relief and connection when a song just speaks to my emotions without telling me what to do about them. I hope this album reaches that little secret pocket in your heart where all the real stuff is hiding.”
Tove Lo has also announced the launch of her own record label Pretty Swede Records with mtheory, creating an independent platform for her artistry. “It’s amazing,” she smiles. “I have a lot of freedom, and it’s been fun to work with mtheory. This will be the first release under my label. I’m a pop girl, but I like to make things weird and be in full control of the whole vision. This is the perfect way to put out exactly what I want.”
Flowing with her trademark swaggering attitude, gritty lyrics and slick production, pop renegade Noga Erez has returned with her razor sharp new single, “NAILS.”
“‘NAILS’ is a song about jealousy, and how being jealous of people, in this particular case another woman, makes you idealize that person in a very weird and dark way,” Erez comments. This is something that Erez explores in the track’s accompanying video, directed by Indy Hait.
Along with the new single, Erez has announced her signing to Neon Gold/Atlantic Records, revealed exclusively on Billboard. Of the new partnership, Erez said, “I’m super excited to begin to work with the people of Atlantic/Neon Gold. This partnership is a big step for me. We’ve already started to get the ball rolling creatively and we have some big plans ahead of us.”
Neon Gold Co-Founder Derek Davies shared, “Neon Gold has long been defined by iconoclastic international pop talents — from Charli XCX and MARINA to Tove Lo and Christine And The Queens — and we are thrilled to welcome the genreless and borderless Noga Erez to the fold as one of the most visionary artists we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.”
Atlantic Records SVP, A&R Jeff Levin & A&R Director Madison Vickery added, “Noga Erez breaks down the barriers of genre with a unique creative vision that plays with elements of pop, alternative, R&B and rap. Erez represents another leap forward for the label and for music. Their live show brings stadium level energy to every room. We’re proud to welcome her to our roster and provide a platform for her creative vision.”
Tove recalls on making the song, “when you’re with someone for a long time and it ends all of all sudden, it’s like a part of you has died. This person is now a stranger to you. All of the memories are tainted. For the first part of the breakup, you believe you’re not supposed to feel good about anything you had together. What I believe I do best is ‘heartbreak you can dance to.’ The song is that.”
The video for ‘No One Dies From Love’ was filmed on location in Mexico City and was directed by the Brazilian duo Alaska, whom Tove previously collaborated with on the video for “Are U gonna tell her?”
Speaking about the video, Tove reveals, “All the songs on the album are very cinematic, dramatic and grand, so for the visual story I want to attach a character to each song. For No One Dies From Love it’s the classic vulnerable, lonely starlet looking for connection. This mini movie is a different kind of love story.”

Beloved sibling duo BROODS (Georgia and Caleb Nott) have released their highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Space Island, via Island Records Australia/Ingrooves.
To celebrate Space Island’s release, BROODS has also shared a visual for focus track “I Keep,” featuring longtime collaborator Tove Lo, who adds her luminous vocal work to the unsparing piece of self-reflection. Created by Vinyl Williams (visuals) and Jack McEntee (typography), the lyric video sits perfectly alongside the already released sci-fi inspired video trilogy, and enhances the hypnotic feel of the dreamy indie-pop track.
“During the quieter months of the pandemic I was doing a lot of sessions on zoom,” said Georgia Nott. “This song came from one with a producer from Sweden called Madde. I said to her that day ‘I feel like I’m a moth that keeps flying into a hot porch lamp, then reincarnating, only to die the same way over and over.’ We thought it would be fun to write as if I really were a moth and ‘I Keep’ happened. I knew Tove would know exactly what I really meant when I said I was a moth, and she did.”
“Caleb and Georgia are like my family and I just love making music with them,” said Swedish singer-songwriter, Tove Lo, who was also featured on BROODS’ 2016 single “Freak of Nature.” “‘I Keep’ came together from afar and I think it’s so beautiful and dreamy. Georgia called me and said ‘I wrote this story about a moth and how it’s drawn to something that will eventually kill it… do you wanna write a verse about that?’ I did. I love that it’s part of ‘Space Island,’ the perfect place to escape to. Just like our hangs. It’s an oasis of love and peace.”
BROODS will bring Space Island to the US this spring with their 2022 Space Island North American Tour.
