Isol-Aid #63

Isol-Aid #63 – AUSMUSIC T-Shirt Day (Revised)

November 19, 2021

https://www.isolaidfestival.com/

To celebrate our FINAL ISOL-AID OF THE YEAR we’re digging out our favourite Ausmusic band tee and joining forces with all our pals for AUSMUSIC T-SHIRT DAY on Friday November 19th.

We’re partnering with SUPPORT ACT, AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS and TIKTOK to present a lineup of star Australian artists, via livestream to audiences across Australia. It’s all about spreading the word and raising funds for the work Support Act does in helping those in need in the music industry.

CARLA WEHBE merges current pop melodies with an edgy 80s nostalgia, teleporting you to another era. Beneath her tough exterior lies a pure pop heart, a captivating voice that floats over ever more vintage sounding production. Having first dipped her toe into the water as collaborator on a Tyron Hapi track that’s since garnered millions of streams, Carla’s solo work has seen her stake her claim as one of the country’s brightest new artists.  @carlawehbe

ASHWARYA creates dark and romantic RnB tinged pop with dashes of the classic Bollywood music she grew up surrounded by and an undercurrent reminiscent of early 2000s So Fresh CDs. With music that never fails to excite, Ashwarya is an ardent performer, weaving melodies that take you on a journey and speak to the vulnerabilities in us all. @ashwaryahhh

ISAIAH FIREBRACE whose undeniable voice and creative ability have seen him become one of the most streamed artists in Australia. It’s been a busy few years, chock full of winning X-Factor, competing at the Eurovision Song Contest, touring across the country, and a turn in the Masked Singer, and now his dulcet tones will be streaming straight to our screens, a true treat. @isaacfirebrace

SPACEY JANE was no longer able to perform and are being replaced by LIME CORDIALE.

@spacey_jane @limecordiale

We love that our festival is free to watch, but we do ask online attendees to help support musicians and music workers if you can. 100% of whatever you donate will go directly to Support Act. Please donate directly to our fundraising page on the Ausmusic T-Shirt Day Website: https://www.ausmusictshirtday.org.au/teams/isol-aid-festival-2

As you know, the loss of touring and live performance income has caused financial strain and even strife for many in our music community. Throwing in even what you’d normally pay for a beer or two at the show will make a huge difference. And we’ll be eternally grateful, too!

Isol-Aid # 58

Wednesday August 25, 2021

https://www.isolaidfestival.com/

Spring has almost sprung and with all these flowers in bloom there’s no better time to tune into ISOL-AID #58. Take a break from the veggie patch and turn your attention to the abundant homegrown talent streaming straight to your screens on Wednesday August 25. From seedlings to metres tall trees this week is a mix of some of Australia’s best up-and-coming hip-hop acts and fan-favourite indie artists, truly something for everyone!

Keeping the good times rolling, ISOL-AID have teamed up with 99DESIGNS BY VISTAPRINT to offer creative and financial support to emerging homegrown acts. Nominations for Isol-Aid Homegrown have now closed with a staggering total of 975 nominations received. Thank you SO MUCH for nominating yourselves, your friends & your favourite artists and be sure to stay tuned for the fortnightly harvest of freshly-picked talent, sprouting from your screens in the weeks to come.

Kicking off this week’s ISOL-AID is none other than MANSIONAIR. Crafting anthemic and all encompassing indie tracks the Grammy nominated band have just released rousing new single ‘More’ off their soon to be released album. Through slots at Coachella, Splendour In The Grass and a whole Carly Rae Jepsen tour, Mansionair have drawn audiences in time and time again.

YOURBOYMARS is at the forefront of the young new-wave hip-hop scene bringing a clean mixture of Afro-beats, trap, soul and RnB. At only 19 years of age the African Australian singer, rapper and songwriter has cemented himself as one to watch. With his melodic chops setting him apart, he’s been steadily releasing tracks since 2020 and it’s clear he’s already on the path to take over Australia’s hip-hop scene.

Rounding out the night is Perth based band DULCIE. Made up of four childhood friends Dulcie abounds in sweet indie-pop music brimming with lush harmonies and opulent textures. Swapping lead vocal duties as they please their stirring lyrics cut straight to the bone and will have you hanging onto every word. They’ve supported everyone from G Flip to Spacey Jane and have enchanted audiences across Laneway and Groovin the Moo. This Wednesday sees them bringing their effortlessly cool energy to us all.
