FEMMUSIC: Describe your songwriting technique?

Minx: I write a song every time someone breaks my heart.

Grace: “Angel writing”, I really believe. When I have felt completely moved by something I wake up in the middle of the night with finished songs in my head…and this happens ALL THE TIME!!

FEMMUSIC:  What was the biggest challenge making your current CD?

Minx: Choosing which songs to record, we have so many to choose  from!

FEMMUSIC:  What was the best experience making your current CD?

Minx: Working with the best musicians and the feeling of “one” with them.

FEMMUSIC:  Who have been your musical mentors?

Grace: Leonard Cohen, Keith Richards, Concrete Blonde, Paula Cole

Minx: Growing up I sang everyone from Cyndi Lauper to Blondie to Annie Lennox, Pretenders and Rickie Lee Jones, you name it, I learned it. Now pretty much the only thing in my CD player is Sarah Maclachlan & Heather Nova.

FEMMUSIC: What one thing have you learned that has helped build you audience?

Minx:  www.seeuthere.com

FEMMUSIC:  What one thing would you like to change about the music industry?

Mix: In a perfect world there would be more attention paid to the artist and the artistry of songwriting as opposed to “stoking the star maker machinery behind the popular song”.

FEMMUSIC: As a woman in the music industry, have you been discriminated against?

Minx: Just lucky, I guess.

FEMMUSIC:  What advice would you give to an artist just starting out?

Minx: You need to believe in yourself, you need a supportive team, because in the beginning you have to do it ALL! You need to wear many hats, you need to get your music out any way you can.

FEMMUSIC:  What are your plans for the future?

Minx: To get our music out any way we can!
