Raveena – 16 Candles

On the heels of the release of her new album Where the Butterflies Go in the Rain, Raveena returns to share the official music video for album track “16 Candles.”

Co-directed by Raveena herself alongside frequent collaborator Tanmay Chowdhary, they effortlessly translate the reflective tone of “16 Candles” into a visual offering that reimagines birthdays past juxtaposed by Raveena’s personal growth in finding a sense of inner peace, a central theme to her new album out now via Empire.

The video opens with a pensive shot of Raveena celebrating her birthday while surrounded by friends and loved ones eager to celebrate another year around the sun. The video reimagines past birthdays and all of the versions of herself that Raveena has lived through. Beginning from her most recent birthday to her first birthday on earth, all of which are accented by pink hues, we see how the song is truly a gift to herself, as she practices patience, forgiveness, and self-love.
