Draamakuu – Toinen vaihe

Draamakuu is the new hypnotic duo of the elusive rapper Draama-Helmi (Helmi Kajaste) and the dream-looper Kuupuu (Jonna Karanka). Fonal Records will release their debut album Toinen vaihe (Another phase) on June 12th 2026, marking a new departure in both musicians’ bodies of work.

The songs on the album slither under the skin and begin to trail after the listener. Wistfully, they approach the dance floor but are often left to just twirl around in the margins. Draamakuu’s aim is to be, together, more boastful and delirious than ever before.

“Pitti (The Pit)” is the first single from Draamakuu’s forthcoming debut album.

The strange energy of the pit sparks curiosity and sucks people in from the sidelines. It is a hazardous punch in the face of a surprised bystander. A music video directed by Sami Sänpäkkilä will be released on the same day.

Both artists’ extensive catalogues speak for themselves. Draama-Helmi and Kuupuu have each released several acclaimed solo records, and their musical careers of over ten years include various collaborative projects and, among other things, silent film accompaniments. Working on their own terms and in their own voices is essential to both artists, and it forms the foundation for the Draamakuu collaboration.

The tracks on Toinen vaihe were dreamed up together between 2024 and 2026. Helmi Kajaste is responsible for the lyrics and Jonna Karanka for the music. The album also features guest appearances by Miikka Sipilä (Kuuhullu, Sunnuntait, Pitti, Huhuu), Kanttoripoika (Vika hidas) and HEX VIIHDE (Vika hidas).
