Set against the overwhelming pace of London, the song’s emotional depth and authenticity explores identity, survival and self-defense in a city that constantly judges, overstimulates and disorients. The track was written during a period of creative block, loneliness and self-doubt, shaped by financial struggles, a toxic relationship and the pressure of feeling “out of place.” The breakthrough came unexpectedly in Milan, during a studio session: sparked by a vivid, almost cinematic image of a body pierced by lightning, Red Lipstick was written in less than an hour.
