Amplify Arts Project x Push-Up Bra LA Writers Camp

Amplify Arts Project2

Amplify Arts Project and the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Push-Up Bra LA have announced the launch of the Amplify Arts Project x Push-Up Bra LA Writers Camp, an intensive songwriting program designed to give teenage girls early access to professional writing rooms and mentorship from established women in the music industry.

The inaugural camp which will take place in Los Angeles from June 15 – 19, 2026 will bring together ten young female songwriters ages 14–19, alongside five young filmmakers, for a week of immersive creative collaboration. Participants will work in daily writing sessions with professional songwriters and producers, record original music in professional studios, and learn about the mechanics of the music industry, including publishing, rights, collaboration, and creative ownership. The program will culminate in a collaborative EP release in Fall 2026, accompanied by a live release show in Los Angeles.

In addition to the music created during the camp, the program will also be the subject of a documentary filmed over the next two years, following four Writers Camps and the young artists participating in them. The film will explore the gender imbalance in professional songwriting spaces and examine how mentorship and early access may reshape the future of the industry. Five young filmmakers will participate in the first cohort, documenting the creative process as it unfolds inside writing rooms and recording studios.

Applications for the Writers Camp will run from April 1 – 15 on the Amplify Arts Project’s website.

The initiative has already secured sponsorship support from Epitaph Records, BMI and CD Baby, with additional partners expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Unlike traditional music camps, the Writers Camp is structured to replicate the real-world songwriting environment, where professional writers and artists gather in collaborative sessions to create music for recording artists, film, and television. But the program was also created to address a longstanding issue in the music industry: access. Even today, women remain significantly underrepresented in professional songwriting and production spaces, particularly within collaborative writing rooms where many songs for major artists are created. The idea for the Writers Camp emerged through conversations between Amplify founder Jen Baron, Amplify Program Coordinator Devin Davis, and Push-Up Bra LA founder Zealyn, who, as working musicians, shared a vision for creating earlier access to professional songwriting spaces for young women.

Baron, who spent years navigating the industry as a songwriter herself, says the program was born out of experiences many women in music still face. “Even as an adult working in music, it took me years to get into real writing rooms,” Baron said. “I was often the only woman in the room, and just figuring out how those spaces worked.”

For Zealyn, the collaboration represents a chance to expand the nonprofit’s mission of supporting women in music at an even earlier stage. “I can’t help but imagine how different my path would’ve been if I’d had access to that kind of mentorship at age 14. It would have boosted my confidence and skill set, and changed how I showed up as an artist. That’s why this camp means so much.”

Since its founding in 2012, Amplify Arts Project has empowered more than 15,000 young creatives through music and arts programming focused on building confidence, creativity, and community among girls and young women.

Devin Davis of Amplify Arts Project and the Los Angeles–based band Ramonda Hammer, will help lead the program from the Amplify side. “I love all of the things I’ve been fortunate enough to create, but I wonder sometimes where I’d be had I been given a mentorship opportunity at an early age. That’s why I’ve been so passionate about empowering young artists and why this new writing camp is so important and exciting to me, I want them to go after their creative passions more unapologetically than ever, and really dive in to understand the possibilities early on.”

The Amplify Arts Project x Push-Up Bra LA Writers Camp represents a new evolution of that mission, bridging youth arts education with the professional music world and offering a rare opportunity for young women to step into creative spaces that have historically been difficult to access.
