Lexi Carr – Ready To Own My Sh*t

Multifaceted creative Lexi Carr is back with her rawest, most honest track yet. Her new self-produced single, ‘Ready to Own My Shit’ via APOLLO Distribution, is a layered, genre-blurring journey, part diary entry, part sonic experiment, where nothing stays in one box.
“Ready to Own My Shit’ is really just a journal entry,” Lexi explains. “It’s about being ready to face the good and the bad that life throws at you, the little mundane things like getting a latte for your partner and the bigger morbid things, like, well, people around you dying or deciding not to be a part of your life. I produced it myself not knowing what I was doing and wanting some big cool producer to ‘fix’ it and then when someone I trusted told me it was perfect as is and that I did know what I was doing I decided to believe them.”
The track, mixed by Cian Riordan (St. Vincent), who early on called Lexi’s sound “groundbreaking”, demonstrates her fearless, hook-filled, gut-punching approach. It’s both personal and expansive, offering a glimpse into the mind of an artist unafraid to lay everything bare.
Lexi Carr’s seven-song EP Everyone’s Talking, set for release April 10th, promises a full view into Lexi’s eclectic creative world. As a creative director working across multiple projects like Sudan Archives, Lexi brings a unique vision to her music – from the graphics to the lyrics to the sound itself. Every track feels like a window into her mind.
