Mirah – Dedication
Mirah releases her 7th album Dedication, on Double Double Whammy and Mirah’s long-running imprint Absolute Magnitude.
Dedication includes the singles “The Ballad Of The Bride Of Frankenstein” , “After The Rain” and “Catch My Breath.”
25 years removed from her watershed debut You Think It’s Like This but Really It’s Like This, the Phil Elverum-produced LP that NPR credited with “shaping the aesthetic of bedroom pop” on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in 2020, Mirah’s latest album is her first in 7 years. Announced with the single “After The Rain,” the album features a backing band composed of Jenn Wasner of Flock of Dimes, Meg Duffy (aka Hand Habits) and Andrew Maguire, and traces a tumultuous interval. Dedication spans birth, death, a global pandemic and an existential heartbreak and finds Mirah writing about all of these with the same emotional clarity, insight and candor as she did on her beloved debut nearly three decades ago.
