Carrie Baxter – Change

Rising neo-soul artist Carrie Baxter releases her fourth single, “Change.”

The track follows the radio favourites “Under My Skin”, “Loved You Before” and” Open Up Your Arms”, all taken from her forthcoming album Seven, due for release on March 11th.

Known for her rich, emotionally driven sound, Carrie blends neo-soul, R&B and jazz with deeply confessional lyrics and soulful storytelling. Her music explores identity, healing and vulnerability, capturing moments of self-reflection with striking honesty.

“Change” finds Carrie at her most open and self-aware. Dreamlike verses and spoken-word passages build toward a gospel-tinged, instantly memorable chorus that anchors the emotional heart of the project.

Lyrically, the song traces cycles of guilt, distance and self-examination. Baxter reflects on broken promises, emotional withdrawal and the tension between desire and faith. At its core, “Change” is a reminder that growth does not require self-erasure, only patience, care and the willingness to build yourself up.

Carrie says: “This song didn’t come easily to me. It forced me to sit with the parts of myself I’d avoided for years, the patterns I carried from childhood that I knew I had to face. For a long time I treated healing like something that needed fixing. As I’ve grown, I’ve realised it’s not about fixing at all. It’s about walking alongside my younger self, letting myself feel everything, and choosing who I want to become. That’s what the chorus is. An honest conversation with myself.”
