Baby Queen – I Hope You Don’t Remember Me

BABY QUEEN today makes a commanding return with the release of brand new single “I Hope You Don’t Remember Me” on Arista Records and Insanity Records.
The track is the first new music to be shared from the South African-born, London-based singer songwriter’s highly anticipated and not yet announced second studio album. A scintillating, bait-and-switch pop track that simultaneously sounds bitter and forgiving, “I Hope You Don’t Remember Me” is an antidote to the famous ballads about a fear of being forgotten.
Speaking about her new single, Baby Queen says, “This song is about an urge to revoke my memory from somebody else’s mind after perceived rejection (partly in defiance and partly out of shame) and have them be erased from my own in return.
Whilst writing it, I was still trying to convince myself of what I was saying. I think a lot of the emotion comes from the fact that a big part of me didn’t want to be forgotten, and knew I wouldn’t forget.”
Escaping London in the wake of a starkly emotional period, Baby Queen – aka Bella Latham – decamped to New York and then LA, where she began writing the follow up to her top 5 debut album Quarter Life Crisis. After connecting with producer Alex Casnoff, she found a collaborator who instinctively understood her on a creative level. Their work together, spanning sessions in LA and London, captures an artist leaning into a visceral and raw new sound that feels both immediate and uncompromising.
