tawnylawns – Moss

Tawnylawns2

tawnylawns (AKA Elissa LeCoque), an Austin-based musician and video artist, whose upcoming album Overheard At Nickel City (out this October  6th via FOIL Imprints) turns fragments of conversation overheard in Austin bars into pop songs full of sly observation and surprising heart.

Her new single “MOSS” is a wry, poppy ode to those rare humans who somehow see the silver linings in your greatest flaws.

Catchy, bittersweet, and slightly irreverent, it’s both an anthem for self-acceptance and a wink at the messy beauty of human connection. In addition to crafting original music, tawnylawns is known for toiling away on art-department heavy music videos, featuring hand-crafted stop-motion animation, obsessive prop sourcing, and a clean product-style aesthetic, which is apparent in the kitchy music video. I thought this was something you would appreciate or that would at least make you smile. I would love for you to consider covering this cheeky single.

“MOSS” offers a first glimpse of her forthcoming album Overheard At Nickel City—a collection about transitions, late-life love, and the humor and heartbreak of letting go, all filtered through the ambient poetry of everyday voices. Thanks so much for giving this your attention.  As always, your time and ears are much appreciated.
