Cornelia Murr – B-Sides

Following the release her Luke Temple (Nick Hakim, Adrianne Lenker, Hand Habits) – produced album, Run To The Center (22TWENTY) and of a headline tour of North America that featured packed, if not sold-out rooms from coast-to-coast, Cornelia Murr is once again hitting the road as the support for Matt Maltese. To celebrate, the London-born, NY-based singer-songwriter has released B-Sides comprised of two new singles, “Treaty” and “Gotta Give,” that exemplify the intimate storytelling and lush, hypnotic soundscapes that have been steadily earning her a devoted following. Murr says:
“‘Treaty’ and ‘Gotta Give’ are both early songs of mine that hadn’t found their way into any collection so far. We tracked them during the making of my last album, Run to the Center, but they ended up still feeling like they lived in their own world to me. They each contain lessons learned from years past and I’m glad they’ll get to see the light of day now, little misfits that they are.”

Working alongside longtime collaborator Temple, Murr finished the arrangements and vocals in with a makeshift recording rig. The result is a multilayered sound that trades the dreamy textures of her past releases for something more urgent and alive – an awakening. Following her 2018 debut Lake Tear of the Clouds and 2022’s EP Corridor, this album is her most complete statement yet: a fully realized portrait of an artist standing firmly in uncertainty, excavating her desires, and asking the sustaining questions of a creative life.
Murr’s tour with Maltese kicks off tonight at the Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN and concludes November 5 in Tampa, FL at The Ritz Ybor. Along the way she will also play at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on September 29 and Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on October 24.
