Molly Grace – WYKYK

MOLLY GRACE by ELIZABETH MARSH

Nashville’s resident rising pop star Molly Grace shares “WYKYK,” the final single from her highly-anticipated debut album, Blush, releasing September 26 via Nettwerk.

Shorthand for “When You Know You Know,” “WYKYK” is about the magnetic pull of a promising new romance, fantasizing about a future together on the first date (“Tell me why I’m sizing up a wedding ring” / “Tell me why I’m trying on your last name”). Produced by The Gifted (Tate McRae, Dasha, Bishop Briggs) and Joe Pepe (Sara Kays, Knox, Meg Smith), “WYKYK” is a playful, lovergirl anthem with hints of funk and soul, offering the final taste of her album to come.

“I’m no stranger to being a little bit over-the-top in everything I do, and falling in love is no exception,” explains Molly. “‘WYKYK’ is a dramatic, groovy, & playful profession of love at first sight. It’s funky and soulful yet wholly modern — it’s Molly Grace to its core and I am so excited for this to be the final single ushering in the world of Blush.”

Blush

With production helmed by Keith Sorrells and Oscar Linnander of The Orphanage, and co-writing credits from songwriters Claire Ernst and Wrabel, Blush was polished to achieve a high-gloss shine, ready for radio and the stage alike. Featuring recently released tracks “Mad At Her Forever,” the effervescent “Do Me (Feels So Good),” the gloriously camp anthem “Heaven Sent” and the latest taste of her debut album to come, scintillating disco track “Soprano.”

Written over the last year between Nashville and Los Angeles, Blush captures the highs and lows of the human experience. “You could be embarrassed, you could be flirty, you could be hot and bothered — it encapsulates all those feelings,” Molly says of the album’s title and concept. The project’s bright aesthetic follows suit, drawing inspiration from the sparkle of showgirls and cabaret shows.
