Midnight Peg – The Hag

Canadian punk/post-hardcore provocateurs Midnight Peg return with their most unflinching and explosive track yet: “The Hag,” out now via Thousand Islands Records.
A harrowing tale of coiled retribution and suffocating myth, “The Hag” pulses with dark sensuality and mosh-pit menace, offering a volatile taste of the band’s upcoming sophomore album Skinning, due out this fall.
Driven by slinking guitars, serrated riffs, and lockstep percussion, “The Hag” is a charged subversion of the mythic crone—a warning of what waits in the dark when you let your guard down. With a vocal performance that bites and breathes, Midnight Peg transforms folkloric nightmare into something darkly erotic, visceral, and confrontational.
“‘The Hag’ is about the figures who stalk our dreams, but also the ones society refuses to confront—sexual, powerful, enraged,” says vocalist and lyricist Raquel “Rocky” Mann. “It’s a myth made into a mirror.”
Midnight Peg recorded “The Hag” on Treaty 6 Territory in amiskwacîwâskahikan / Edmonton, AB. The track was captured by Rob Lawless (Lawless Recordings) and Cody Blakeley (Half Stack Studios), who also co-produced and mixed the song. Mastering was handled by Stuart McKillop at Rain City Recorders (Vancouver, BC).
