Alex Porat – Blueprint

Toronto alt-pop artist Alex Porat is releasing her dreamy new single, “Blueprint”, the third single off of her upcoming crushed! EP (June 27th), alongside an intimate visualizer for the track.

Alex Porat’s sweet vocals soar in this yearning ballad about a lover who may or may not be the one, but who has set the bar for every other relationship in Alex’s life nevertheless. The track mingles a breezy sense of lovelorn hope with the tale of a one-that-got-away romance: “And I hope that it’s you / But if you aren’t who I spend forever with / At least you left me this / Baby, you’re the blueprint”. A calm reflection on what could have been, Alex finds an effortless balance between gratitude and loss with a song that is warm yet nostalgic, wistful yet grounded.

Set against echoing drums and sentimental acoustic guitar, Alex gently weaves a sparkling web of memory, potential, and flickers of the “might-have-been”. “Blueprint” comes off of Alex Porat’s  upcoming EP, crushed!. Full of fun, light-hearted pop songs, the project is a tour-de-force that perfectly encapsulates the rush and excitement of meeting a new person, wondering if they like you back, and getting jittery every time you get to see them. As Alex says, “This EP was inspired by the feelings of meeting my now boyfriend. It’s the type of music someone would dance around their room to when they get a text from the person they like.” The EP is expected to drop on June 27th.
