Tchotchke – Did You Hear?

Diva rock band Tchotchke – the Los Angeles-bred, New York-based trio of Anastasia Sanchez (drums, vocals), Eva Chambers (bass, vocals) and Emily Tooraen (guitar, vocals) – reintroduce themselves with their new single, “Did You Hear?”

The track, produced by The Lemon Twigs and written, arranged, and performed entirely by Tchotchke, is a driving, fun as hell lament on gilded romance.

“It tells a timeless story of a girl dating a knowingly deceptive man and hiding her pain,” says Sanchez of the song. “In a fleeting romance, she starts to convince herself that she could be the one to change him. The lines blur between hope and reality, and the fantasy fades into contempt.” Playful percussion, taut keys, and vivacious guitar elevate their harmonized vocals: “I’m not a fool, still I’m wondering // Will he ever really love me // In spite of all that he’s done // I was number one.”
