Annahstasia – Be Kind
Annahstasia shares the final single ahead of her forthcoming debut album today with “Be Kind”.
As the album’s opening statement, the tender, string-backed single introduces one of the inciting lessons in love that Annahstasia has carried with her over the course of crafting her universally resonant debut full-length Tether, out June 13th via drink sum wtr.
“‘Be Kind’ is one of the first lessons I was taught,” Annahstasia explains of the new single. “As life takes you through the full spectrum of emotions it certainly isn’t always easy to be a ‘good’ person. ‘Goodness’ is a moral grey. It is a much clearer compass attempting kindness and learning compassion in deeper levels. This song is about a chapter of my life where I found my surroundings mostly overwhelming and oppressive to my spirit, but as I narrowed in on the minutiae, the details in the mundane. I found so much beauty and awe for the matter that had collected before me. I found a bit of stillness in myself. In the conversation between me and the other, I want to remind everyone that we are all reflections of each other, the actions we lead with in the world will always come back to greet us in some form. So it’s best practice to take a few deep breaths and find kindness again. I believe that is the world we all want. A kinder one. A softer one.”
Throughout the month of June, Annahstasia will be bringing the album to life on her North American tour across the continent beginning in New Orleans on June 4th and concluding with a hometown show in LA on June 28th.
