Written during a period of intense personal turmoil, “Hanging By a Thread” chronicles the breakdown of a relationship weighed down by unhealed wounds. After her girlfriend traveled to visit her hometown last summer, Dalia was forced to confront a truth she had tried to bury – she was still emotionally tied to a relationship from her past. That unresolved connection ultimately unraveled her new love, leaving her grappling with guilt, confusion, and a deep sense of being lost within herself.

Over moody, melancholic production, Dalia paints vivid scenes of crying in taxis, losing herself in self-destructive habits, and sabotaging a new relationship – all while the person she can’t forget moves on without her.

“I wrote the first verse the day we broke up” Dalia says. “It was such a strange, out-of-body time. I wasn’t connected to myself at all. Looking back, I barely recognize the version of me who lived through it.”
