Rosie – City Woman

Today, New York singer-songwriter ROSIE returns with her country-kissed new single, “City Woman,” out now via Arista Records. Full of heartfelt sentiment and clever lines, the song adds a playful twist to a familiar theme: opposites attract … until they don’t.
“City Woman” opens on lightly plucked acoustic guitar before breaking into a full-band trot. Although she holds down the song’s titular role, ROSIE’s vocals feel Nashville-ready, able to soar up high and swoop down close as she paints a vivid scene: “You’ve got IPA and cigarettes, lingering on your breath / And me, I like an overpriced iced coffee / You’ve got wrangler jeans and riding boots, and I prefer Nike shoes / We’re opposites but you insist you want me.”
The “City Woman” lyric video underscores ROSIE’s unvarnished approach as she sits on a stool and serenely sings along. The single release is her first following November’s cathartic, candid, and — ultimately — curative EP, What Scares Me the Most. That vulnerable yet self-affirming set served up raw, unfiltered lyrics over a timeless swirl of folk, pop, and indie — not to mention “Break a Promise,” a heart-on-sleeve duet between ROSIE and Nashville riser Caleb Hearn.
