Mollie Elizabeth – Dinner For One

Today, the 21-year-old Washington State-based artist Mollie Elizabeth reveals a second track and a perfectly matching music video (dir. Maya Sassoon) for “Dinner For One” via Neon Gold / Virgin Music.
Produced by Dean Reid (Lana Del Rey, Marina) and co-written with Reid and GRAMMY-nominated Casey Smith (Olivia Rodrigo, Ashe, Benson Boone), in “Dinner For One,” Elizabeth introduces her signature blend of high vintage femme with the cheeky self-assurance of modern femininity. Sashaying breezily with lush orchestration, muted sax, and modernized doo-wop, “Dinner For One” recounts our dirty blonde bombshell’s perfectly scrumptious solo date.
With Elizabeth’s sharp storytelling, the song plays as vividly as cinema, each verse transitioning into the next like set pieces filling a stage. Elizabeth’s voice, warm and quavery with a deep vibrato reminiscent of Billie Holiday’s, narrates every femme’s dream: being dressed to the nines, solely for herself.
Mollie adds: “Dinner For One is a song that was born from this idea of feminine joy, and being content by yourself in a world where we are constantly pressured to please everyone else before ourselves. I think it is so important to take yourself out on a date every so often, and I hope this song can inspire more people to do just that!”
