Career Woman – Lighthouse

Career Woman, the indie rock songwriting project of Melody Caudill, returns with a new single and music video, “Piano Song.”
The track serves as the lead single off of their forthcoming debut album, Lighthouse, out June 6 via Lauren Records.

An energetic anthem about self-confidence and personal growth, “Piano Song” reflects on shedding the weight of shyness and embracing spontaneity. “It’s about not taking things too seriously and letting myself have fun, recovering from a deeply shy and introverted teenhood and diving into a social, fast-paced young-adulthood,” says Caudill. The accompanying video, shot by Rocio Salvatierra and edited by Tristian Padron, captures these themes with a camcorder diary-style aesthetic.
Since first releasing music at age 14, Caudill, now 20, has continued to evolve her project Career Woman, solidifying it into a full band after moving from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz for college. With bandmates Jackson Felton (drums), Allen Moreno (guitar), and Joey Chavez (bass), Career Woman delivers a punchy, guitar-forward indie rock sound that shines on Lighthouse.
With their debut album Lighthouse, Career Woman chronicles a transformative period of young adulthood, tracing back-to-back heartbreaks, self-discovery, and the realization of Caudill’s queer identity. The 11-track record is an intimate time capsule set against raw, hook-driven indie rock.
