Kings Elliot – Starcrossed

Today rising alt-pop sensation Kings Elliot is back with her latest single, “Starcrossed,” a theatrical heartbreak ballad packed with raw emotion and compelling storytelling. As always, Kings Elliot delivers an emotionally charged and passionate performance, showcasing the raspy, rich depth of her vocals against a backdrop of catchy rhythms and a strong pop beat.
Inspired by her love for 1950s music, Starcrossed carries a rich sonic retro flavor, blending vintage influences with Kings Elliot’s signature modern sound. Romantic in tone yet bittersweet in theme, the track explores a love that was never meant to be, with Kings Elliot’s poignant lyricism painting a vivid picture of longing.
Speaking on the story behind her latest single, Kings Elliot shares; “Starcrossed” is a song about the end of a love that was doomed from the beginning, a love that will never be given the chance to fully bloom in this lifetime. It captures the raw, bittersweet emotions of spending those final moments with someone you care deeply for, knowing you’ll never see them again.”
Kings Elliot goes on to detail how the song came to life… “I started this song at [hit songwriter] Emily Warren’s incredible writing retreat that she put together which was like a week-long therapy session. One afternoon Max [Wolfgang], Adam [Yaron] and I just got into a room and the song poured out in less than 2 hours. I finished it with my long-term collaborator, Halfrhymes, turning it into the version you’re hearing today.
I have always drawn inspiration from ‘50s music but this song is the first time I fully lean into that influence and I love every second of it, especially the catharsis it brings when I perform it live—something I’ll be doing a lot more of this year!”
Following the success of her latest EP, I’m Not Always Sad, Sometimes I’m Angry – a deeply personal collection of tracks that resonated with her loyal fanbase and garnered widespread acclaim. Kings Elliot is ready to embark on the next chapter of her musical journey.
